North Business Council members learn about conservation projects

The North Business Council of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 21 from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek. Guest speaker Jim McCarthy, president of North Florida Land Trust, updated the audience on flood prevention, protection of natural resources, and economic development. A big issue at this time that was also discussed was water quality. Pictured are Joy Bell, Jackie Smith, Jim McCarthy, and North Business Council Chair Stephen Hudson. The North Business Council of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce promotes unity, educates and provides a forum to discuss issues that affect all local area businesses. The Council provides current information on local and state legislation and initiatives that have an economic impact on the areas that make up the North Business Council.
